Before sending an estimate to a client, review what they will see. The client view is fully configurable -- you decide which pricing details, specifications, and approval options are visible.

πŸ’‘ Always review the client view before sending. If markup, margin, product numbers, or internal notes are left visible, your client will see them. Check this every time.

Accessing client view settings

Open the estimate in edit mode. At the top right, click Client View to toggle the settings panel. You can also preview exactly what the client will see from here before sending.

Pricing visibility

Choose which financial details are visible to the client:

  • Markup or margin -- off by default. Turn on only if you want clients to see your margin.

  • Line item discount -- toggle on or off per your preference

  • Individual pricing -- controls whether clients see per-item pricing

  • Freight charge

  • Tax

  • Processing fee

  • Retail MSRP

Specification visibility

For each section, use the Specifications toggle to control which spec fields the client sees. Options include showing all specs, hiding all specs, or selecting individual fields.

You can also configure specs per individual line item by clicking Configure on the far right of each item row.

Fields you may want to hide from clients:

  • Product number

  • Model number

  • Spec number

  • Any internal reference fields in the Other field

Approval settings

Choose how clients approve the estimate:

  • By item -- client approves or declines each line item individually

  • By section -- client approves or declines entire sections at once

  • Whole estimate -- client approves or declines the entire estimate in one action

Deleting a section

You can delete an entire section from an estimate while in edit mode. Be aware that this action cannot be undone -- deleted sections cannot be recovered.
