1. Open the Time Logs page
In Workroom, go to Time Logs.
You’ll see a list of all logged time entries.
Find the time log you want to split.
2. Choose the time log to split
Locate the specific time log you want to divide.
Any time log can be split, including short or long entries.
In the example, a 10-hour time log is selected.
3. Start the split action
Click the three-dot menu on the time log.
Select Split Time Log.
Workroom will show how many hours are available to split from the source project.
4. Decide how you want to allocate the time
You can split evenly across multiple projects by adding the projects first and enabling even split.
If you leave Split Evenly unchecked, you can manually assign specific hour amounts to each project.
You can keep some time on the source project and move the rest elsewhere.
5. Adjust allocations as needed
Enter the number of hours you want to assign to each project.
You can also add more than the original amount if needed.
If you exceed the original total, Workroom will show the overage at the bottom (for example, 11 hours allocated of 10 hours).
This lets you see exactly how the split is being distributed before applying it.
6. Apply the split
Once the allocations look correct, click Apply Split.
Workroom will create new split time logs based on the original entry.
The original time log remains represented in the split results.
7. Review the resulting time logs
The split creates multiple new logs from the original time entry.
In the example, the 10-hour log becomes several smaller logs, plus the original source project entry.
The split logs stay on the same day as the original time log.
Workroom carries over the original time log’s information automatically.
8. Get help if needed
If you have questions, contact the Workroom team.
They can help clarify how splitting time logs works.
