How to send an estimate to a client

Once your estimate is ready and you have reviewed the client view settings, you can send it directly to your client from within the system. The email uses your configured template and the client receives a link to review and approve the estimate online.

Before sending, always preview the client view to confirm the client will only see what you intend. Pricing, markup, and specification details are visible based on your settings.

How to send

  1. From the estimates list, click Actions on the estimate you want to send

  2. Click Send to Client

  3. The email panel will open with your template pre-populated and the client's email address filled in automatically

  4. Edit the subject line if needed

  5. Add a CC address if needed

  6. Click Send

Signing as the designer

Before sending, you also have the option to sign the estimate as the designer. Click Actions > Sign as Designer to add your signature. This will appear on the PDF export.

Tracking whether the client has seen it

Once sent, the estimate status updates to Sent immediately. When the client opens the email and clicks through to the estimate, a seen indicator updates in real time on the estimates list. You do not need to refresh the page.

Email settings

The email is sent from the system but replies go to the email address configured in your settings. If you have not set up your reply-to email, replies from clients may go to a no-reply address. Make sure your email settings are configured before sending estimates to clients.

Your email template -- including the subject line and body copy -- can be customized in Settings > Email Templates. Set this up once and it will pre-populate every time you send an estimate.
