Designer signatures create a recorded approval event tied to the invoice. Signature activity is audit tracked and becomes part of the invoice history.
Opening the Signature Flow
Open the invoice.
Click Actions > Sign as Designer.
The signature modal will appear.
Creating Your Signature
Use your mouse, trackpad, stylus, or touch device to draw your signature in the signature field.
If needed, click Clear to redraw the signature before saving.
Note: Your signature can be saved and reused on future invoices.
Applying the Signature
Once applied:
The signature becomes attached to the invoice.
The invoice activity log records the signature event.
Audit history captures associated user and activity details.
The signature appears in supported client views and exported PDFs.
Client Approval and Signatures
Invoices can also support client approvals and client signatures.
When clients approve and sign invoices:
Approval actions are audit tracked
User activity is recorded
IP and signature history are captured in the invoice record
This creates a documented approval workflow for both the studio and the client.
Updating Signed Invoices
If major invoice changes are made after signing, review the invoice carefully and consider re-signing the updated version to ensure the signature reflects the latest billing details.
Important Limitations
- Signing and sending are separate actions.
- A Designer Signature does not automatically send the invoice to the client.
- If the invoice is changed after signing, teams should review whether the signature still reflects the current invoice version.
- Signature visibility in exported PDFs depends on whether Signature Fields are enabled during PDF export.
What Happens Next?
After a Designer Signature is applied:
- The signature event is recorded in the invoice Activity Log
- The signed invoice can be sent to the client
- The signature can appear in supported Client View and Exported PDF contexts
- The client may still need to approve, sign, or pay the invoice depending on your workflow
