Smart Search

Every main page in Indema has its own Smart Search. This is a live, multi-part search that filters the records on that page as you type -- no need to open filters or navigate to another view.

How Smart Search works

Click the search bar on any page -- Contacts, Vendors, Products, Invoices, Estimates, or Purchase Orders. Start typing. Results filter in real time as you type.

Smart Search is a multi-part search, meaning you can combine terms. For example, on the Products page you could type a category name followed by a vendor name and it will return results matching both parts of your search.

What you can search on each page

• Contacts -- name, email, phone number, tags

• Vendors -- name, account number, company description, category

• Products -- name, category, vendor, description

• Invoices and Estimates -- number, client name, project name

• Purchase Orders -- number, vendor name, client name

The company description field on a vendor record is fully searchable. Many studios use this field to store the vendor category so they can search by type -- for example, typing Lighting returns all vendors where Lighting appears in the description.
